Ok boys, it was a hectic, happy, merry Christmas week!! You had been enjoying waking up and figuring out where Flash the elf was hiding each morning. Thankfully he never became a problem elf, he just watched and made notes on your behavior, I guess he told Santa mostly good things, because the emails you received from Santa were pretty good. Though he did say you still could work on some thing!
Anyway Alek and Maks, here is the blow by blow on your Christmas 2012
Alek, I was lucky enough to be able to volunteer for your holiday party this year. As homeroom mom I elected myself and Miss Monique, so you guys knew it would be a great party! Miss Monique was awesome with the snowglobes crafts. Your classmates seem to really enjoy getting them together and they all came out great. It is always fun watching you interact with your friends. We were laughing as it was the boys who were dancing to the xmas music, I wonder what age you boys decide dancing is no longer cool, but right now I love it! The food was great and you guys had a blast playing a limbo game. I absolutely adore your teacher, she is so sweet and you have an amazing class--it was so much fun to be a part of this party!
Maks--I am hoping I get to do your end of year party, but it sounds like your class had an awesome time too and I love the snowman candle you guys made, it is so cute!!
The last day of school before break also means report card day and I can say, your dad and I could not be prouder.
Maks-your teacher wrote that while you have to work on yelling out answers, you are so bright, funny and "full of facts and information and usually hold her to anything she says". She also said she has moved you to challenge math and will keep at it since you are so bright with math. Great job Makadoo!
Alek--awesome report card. What a turn around this year from last. You are different person. A in math and just missed an A in language arts. She said you just have to work a little harder on your writing which we know is your least favorite. You are doing awesome in science and social studies, with 100% on your last tests. Great job, so proud!!
The next day you had an early basketball game, as in 8am which usually you are still sleeping on saturday. But what a game it was!!
Great shot and you score, so glad I got it on film!!
You were a defensive machine that game! You wound up with 4 points and the game went to double overtime. You almost scored the winning basket but it tetered and didn't go in, but the other team ran down and scored on a buzzer beater. What I was most proud of was how you handled yourself after a tough loss. You told me you talked to youself and reminded yourself that it was a great game and you tried your best and that it was pretty cool for the kid who made that winning shot. Great attitude pal, I love it!
Maks, you had your last gym class. You did great as always! I am kind of bummed that you are not moving up to the team like they want you to, but it is a big committment and one you are not ready to make, you have bigger plans....your dodgeball league that starts end of January!
Next up, Nana's annual xmas open house. It is always fun to see your cousins, great grandmom, and great aunt and uncle.
You guys always have a blast in the TV room opening presents and goofing around.
Now that you are all older much easier getting a picture with your great grandmom! Nana looks pretty darn good for 93!
Crazy boys!!
The sillies have kicked in for sure!!
Christmas eve day...let the marathon begin! You and Chief needed a nap before Pop and Noni arrived. How cute are you guys?
Pop and Noni spoiled you guys as always! An art easel, Mario Kart race track, legos, puzzles, shirts and lets not forget how spoiled Chief was too!
Alek this is perfect for you, a shell collection bag!!
Maks you were so excited with the Halo sets to build. Youcan spend hours working on these things!
YOu had a blast with Pop and Noni and Chief too and it was nice to have a relaxing lunch.
Chief is beat, he curled up by the warm fire and took a long nap!
Look at those paws!!
Christmas eve, round two! Brandy, Steve, Xander and Faith came over for dinner and to hang out.
You all were having a great time with the race track, well except for when Chief would try to walk away with Mario.
The orange cream soda's were a big hit, especially with you Maks. What a treat--mommy letting you have soda!!
And an extra treat--snow on xmas eve!! Wow a white xmas?
Cheers to an amazing holiday with great friends!!
Next up we snugged on the couch with Chief and read the Night Before Christmas. Then it was time to put out the cookies and milk-I mean beer for Santa.
You each wrote him a note on the chalk board thanking him in advance for the presents.
One last peek up the chimney to see if maybe he was coming early!
Then it was off to bed!!
And yep, here it is, Santa showed, mommy must have just missed him as I dozed off downstairs. Sneaky guy he is!!
Love your thank you's!!
Merry Christmas morning!! You guys woke up earlier than usual, but were great about opening your presents in my room while we waited for grammom and poppy. Once they were here, you were so excited you ran downstairs!!
It was great to see those smiles. It was a hard xmas especially for grammom and mommy. This was the first xmas since I was born that Meem wasn't with me. I know how much she loved coming up to watch you guys open your presentsand have daddy's famous omlets. But we know she was with Pop watching your excitement and we know she loved watching your new puppy open his presents too!!
Meem would have been laughing watching Chief lick you!!
You both got big presents from Santa this year, a bike and a Y scooter. So exciting!!
The walkie talkies were a big hit too!!
You guys loved the basketball and all the presents from grammom and poppy, you are so spoiled!!
Grammom and Poppy liked their yearly calendar of you guys and the pictures of Meem and Pop I had made for them.
Chief was getting into his present!
Is he a spoiled doggie or what?
You guys love your Grammom and Poppy, but we definitely miss having Meem in the xmas morning picture.
It was a bitterssweet morning for sure.
After we recoverd and cleaned up after breakfast, we packed up and headed over to LaLa and Jimmy's so you could see your cousins.
The first official cousins picture with Chief!
You guys of course had a blast opening presents and Alek you didn't take your Penn State jersey off for 2 days, you even slept in it!!
I am not sure what LaLa was thinking Maks, getting you a marshmellow shooter--she must not like mommy too much :o)
But you were happy with it for sure!! Right now it is hidden away!
It was great seeing the girls and Jake and hanging out and playing for awhile! Maks I love you in this pic squishing Kait and T!!
After a visit that was too short, it was off to Granny's for dinner. It was great to see Richard, Gavin and his girlfriend Jean. Of course you guys loved opening more presents from Granny, JoJo and Richard. You guys are so spoiled. There were toys everywhere. Even more stuff for Chief--he is too spoiled!!
Maks you took a quick liking to Jean as she helped you build a lego set and taught you oragami.
Alek you had a intense Uno battle with Gavin and were finally defeated!!
It was a nice dinner and evening all around.
Hard to believe another Christmas has past, another year gone by.
It was a hard year filled with some losses, but also a good year filled with fun and laughter and some new adventures.
We hope 2013 is filled with happiness and health and always remembering how precious life is and how we shouldn't take anything for granted.
Merry Christmas my guys!! I know you had an amazing holiday and I look forward to another fun and exciting year with you.
