Some new pics to pass the time

We had spent a fun, although cloudy and overcast day at the beach in Jersey with our friends. Alek had a blast chasing seagulls for 2 hours and then slept through lunch and most of our trip on the boardwalk. He did enjoy sliding down the dunes and while we have progressed from no longer eating sand by the mouthfulls he did enjoy several licks of sand, still can't figure out why kids think eating sand is fun? Still nothing new on the adoption front, have to re-do a few more documents. I am guessing September will be our month--just hoping to get it all done and not have to experience a Russian winter, PA winters are enough for me!

Hurry up and wait and wait and wait....

That would be the phase we are in now, waiting.....Actually the wait this time around is not as bad, too busy to notice most of the time. Still hoping for the summer, but we were also told they were expecting an influx of referrals in September, so that is fine too, we would just like to get it done and not have to travel to Russia in the winter!!

Yesterday was spent at Sesame Place with Laurie and Jake, it was so much fun! We started with breakfast with Cookie Monster and friends. Alek ran right up and hugged Cookie Monster which surprised me, but he was overly fond of the Count. The kids had a blast, the water rides were great, Alek did so well, he really was a trooper during a long day. He only got scared on one water ride, but seemed to love everything else. I will post pics later.

Sunday nights Dateline (7-8) will be on a local family who adopted 3 sets of twins (all biological siblings) from Russia. This will be a great story to watch if you can!!

Our dossier is complete!

The last two pieces of paper, along with our I171H were sent off for appostilling and should arrive at our agency next Tuesday! Along with that, Alek's 2 year post placement was done, so that means only one more for him, this time next year!

So no more paperwork for me, at the moment (although I am sure there will be several more requests to come!).

We have USCIS approval!!

Finally! They actually called today to let us know, which was nice of them, due to the mix up of Home Studies. So they said it was mailed today and we should have it by saturday!! That was the last big document I was waiting for.

We had a fun, although extremely hot Memorial Day weekend. Alek was a little touch and go with the parade, he was not thrilled at all with the loud motorcycles and would cover his eyes--it was very cute! He went on his first pony ride. We couldn't really tell if he liked it or not, didn't smile, but didn't cry? He enjoyed playing with his cousins and Keeley. We all got to celebrate Jake's 6th birthday (wow, 6 already!!) with some sprinkler fun, presents and yummy cake! It was a fun day, even though it felt like August instead of May.

So keep those fingers crossed for that referral call soon, we are getting so excited to finally see who Alek's little brother will be!!
