With June comes Big Papa's day, so what else would our big guy want to do on his day--take in a baseball game of course!
We decided to check out the Camden Riversharks as we have never been to that stadium before. It is minor league, independent. Tickets were dirt cheap and we were right on the opposing teams dugout. We love minor league ball so this would be perfect.
It was also Dog Days at the park and Kevin enjoyed sitting near this really cool Great Dane. The weather was perfect for Kevin, cloud cover and not too hot at all. He was sporting his new Johnny Bench t-shirt the boys got him for his special day.
We had a lot of fun at the ball park despite having to constantly buy Maks food so he wouldn't get antsy. As I have said before, Maks only goes to these events for the food, give him an out and he will take it. One day we hope he will enjoy watching the game!
It was a fun family day and we hope Daddy had a great time. Alek and Maks are blessed to have a great dad like Kevin, one who is home everyday for them, gets them off the bus, plays with them. Takes them to the field, coaches their team, has catches out back, and just spends time with them. We are lucky he has the work schedule he does so they get so much time with their papa bear! Your a great dad Kevin--thanks for all you do, we love you!!
IN other June happenings.....as school came to a close and the boys brought home great report cards, we have settled in to the summer camp routine. I mixed it up a lot for them this summer. They are doing day camp at GS, camps at the gym, basketball camp for Alek and Phillies Baseball camp for Alek. Next year, Maky, you will be old enough for the sports camps! So far everyone is having a blast at the camps. They come home tired and happy!
Baseball wrapped up and Maks started a gymnastics class, which is perfect for him to hone his hand stands and hand walking skills. He loves it and is doing great.
The weekend before 4th of July we headed to the beach, our first visit of the summer, which is hard to believe. Noni was not there as she was at her mom's house for the weekend, so Pop was stuck with our motley crew! Saturday Uncle Joe came down with Reilly and Joseph, so Alek and Maks were so excited to be able to spend time with their cousins.
Pop loves having his grandkids all together at the beach. We know it will get harder and harder to get everyone there at the same time with sports, so we enjoy what time we get.
It was a gorgeous weekend, well aside from the insane storms on Friday night where I thought the house would blow off its stilts! But perfect for sitting on the beach with some cold ones, watching the kids play inthe water and on the sand bar.
We did dinner out Satruday night to our favorite Delaware pizza place, The Grotto. It was a little crazy as the kids were getting silly and overtired. But the pizza was awesome as usual and it was nice to not have to cook.
It was a blast hanging with everyone and we were glad Joe was able to sneak down.
The boys and I are headed back down again the next weekend to try and soak in as much beach time as we can get!
Pop with his gang!
Happy Father's day to another amazing man, my Dad. Not only was he the best dad growing up, he is an awesome grandpop too. We are so lucky to be able to spend time with him and make lots of memories at the beach. We love you Pop!
