We spent a wonderful long holiday weekend at the beach with Pop and Noni. The weather was finally perfect for some fun on the beach. The kids had a blast between the beach and the pool. Alek was back at his rock and shell collecting, but this year is very specific about which ones make it into the bucket, so alot of mommy and Noni's finds didn't make the cut. Maks, well he had a bit of a rough weekend. Needless to say he was a frequent visitor to the time out corner. He loved the pool, wanted to go to the beach but after a 5 minute swim and 5 minutes inthe sand he wanted to go back to the house. He actually has improved alot with his swimming and is getting braver, like trying somersaults underwater. I am very proud of him. The only downside was He whined about everything. We were calling him the little old man. So Maks' antics: decided to take a pee in the dog's crate which by the way is right next to the bathroom. Pop attempted to defend him that he had an accident, but Maks basically just said he wanted to try. On 4th of July, I had the boys cleaned, dressed and ready to walk to beach for camp fire and fireworks. I sent them outback to get their crocs and then I hear Alek yelling, mom, you better come see this. So I look out to see Maks fully clothed swimming around the baby pool, having a blast. Upon pulling him out, we asked, Maks, why would you think that would be ok--he did his famous shoulder shrug and said, I don't know. Dry up, change clothes and back to time out corner while Alek went with daddy and Pop to get the fire started. We got down to the beach and Maks started complaining. Thankfully once the fireworks started and I got the marshmellows toasting, he was happy. This boy is a trip! I had to crack up over the pool when he wasn't watching. He definitely tests us!!
We all had a blast with our fire, watching the bon fire next to us, they had alot of music as well and then the fireworks, it seemed to be a competition between North and South Bowers with the fireworks, it was fun to watch and the kids really enjoyed it. They loved the music. I enjoyed my champagne on the beach and we all had fun dancing. Nothing better then a campfire on the beach.
It was a great weekend and a great holiday!
The boys are headed back down with Pop and Noni in a week to the beach while Kevin and I head to South Beach for a long weekend with friends! Should be fun, just have to get the travel anxiety over with. The boys are looking forward to their time at the beach as well, Alek has me counting down the days!

Sounds like you had a great 4th (for the most part). I had to giggle a little at the peeing and the pool also. He does like to test you. We have one of those testers in our house as well!
