Here comes the sun...

Thank God! It feels like it has been raining here forever. I should have a tan by now, but I am still pasty white. Finally the past week we have gotten some consecutive sunny days and we are taking full advantage of them.
Though the skies were very gray and it was raining alot the day before Father's day. I was doing a sun dance as Jimmy Buffett concert was that night. I was taking my friends as it would be their very first Buffett show. I missed our usual crew, (Jeff and Amy, Buffett is just not the same without you guys!), but we had a great time. People get more creative each year with their tailgating, I was very impressed! The concert gods smiled on us and the weather broke and the sun came out as soon as we got down there. The show was great as usual and a good time was had by all!

Father's Day was very nice. We had a great breakfast and then headed off to the Phillies Game.

This would be Maks' first game. Kevin was happy to get his bucket hat give away and I was very happy to get my crabby fries with the cheese, so yummy! We were not in our seats more than a minute and Maks was asking for more food, drink and to get up. He kept switching seats too. Very hard to watch the game, but I really didn't expect any relaxation. So I took Maks for a walk to get some food and drink, so daddy and Alek could watch the game a bit.
All in all the kids did well. Maks loved the Phillie Phanatic and kept looking for him, so that held his attention for awhile. We made it to the 8th inning, we were losing anyway, so we headed out. We wound out the day at LaLa and Jimmy's for a yummy cook-out with Granny, PopPop, Rols, Krissy, T and Jake. The boys were so excited to see Jakey. The seriously worship their cousin. They are always asking for him and Alek tells me that Jakey is his best friend. It is very cute.
Kevin also enjoyed his Father's day gift of an iPod, we got his music on there and an arm band for his runs.
Alek has been going to day camp two days a week and has been loving it, especially the swimming. He comes home excited. He was telling us that they planted a garden with tomatoes, squash, watermelon, corn, and peppers. He loves working it. I am glad he is getting it there, because I do not have a green thumb at all, it is more like a black thumb or the kiss of death to any plant that comes near me!
Since Alek goes to camp in his bathing suit, Maks has developed a bathing suit obsession. He wants to wear his all the time. His shoe obsession is gone and he is in full on bathing suit mode. He will ask you a hundred times where his bathing suit is and when can he wear it. As soon as he gets home from school his suit goes on! He would wear it 24/7 if we let him. Thankfully last week started water day at school, so he gets to wear his suit on those days. The first morning for it, he woke up, rubbed his eyes, jumped up and yelled, "mom, water day, water day, wheres my bading suit". He is a trip! This past weekend, we headed up to the mountains to Jim and LaLa's place. Mike, C and the girls came along too. The kids had an absolute blast. We all enjoyed ourselves alot. Despite a torrential downpour on the way up, the weather held out all weekend.
We ate well, drank well and enjoyed ourselves. Granny and PopPop came up on saturday as well to stay. The kids had so much fun, they already are asking to go back. They loved the freedom of running around.
The explored, played on rocks, run all around the grass, fished, took a little boat ride, went golf cart exploring thru the woods. It was great for them all to catch some fish. Fishing was really good, so everyone got to reel in at least 2 fish. And I was very happy to enjoy all of this and NOT have to sleep in a tent!

The only downside was they didn't sleep great, too excited and all the kids together in one room does not make for an easy bed time. Maks apparently was the trouble maker. If he wasn't talking or yelling, he was singing "who let the dogs out" which LaLa witnessed and got a kick out of. This is the reason why our boys do not share a room!

We got home on Sunday and Maks took a 4 hour nap. Alek went outside for a swim and played with his buddies. Then he came to my room while I was closet organizing, sat down and promptly fell asleep on the floor at 5:45pm! Yikes! We tried waking him, but he wouldn't budge. He slept until 7am this morning, 13 hours! The boy was spent!! That is the sign of a great weekend!

Friday we are off to the Pop and Noni's beach for the long weekend. I am looking forward to this and hoping for good weather. The boys are excited for the beach too. Alek hasn't been down yet this summer, so he is really excited.
Hopefully our good weather streak continues so we can carry on with our summertime fun!
