July brought the end of the baseball season for Alek, it was a great first season and he had lots of fun! Next up was soccer, he was very excited for that. Maks is bumming as he keeps just missing it age wise, though I think I have found a pee wee soccer for him in September. I volunteered to help the soccer league as a volunteer coordinator. This essentially means I am the annoying person who harasses parents via email to come out and help! So I have been working on that each night, trying to get the parents out to the fields to get them in shape. This is alot tougher than I thought. But it is slowly coming together.

Mid July rolled around and we were off on our little long weekend getaways. Us to South Beach with friends and Alek and Maks to Pop and Noni's at the beach. Good times were had by all both in Florida and Delaware! I was so anxious leaving the kids, especially both of us traveling together, but God bless the little white pill that makes flying alot easier for both Kevin and I!
Kevin and I had a great time in South Beach with our friends. We stayed at the Loews hotel with this great deal because they were undergoing contrusction, which we never heard or saw. So we got a cheaper vacation then we would have if we had gone to Jersey Shore! We relaxed by the pool and the beach. We ate, drank, shopped and people watched. It was fabulous! Meanwhile back at the beach, Noni was off with the boys on their own adventure. They took a little day trip down to Baltimore to the National Aqaurium. The boys have been talking about so much. Their favorite was the big sharks and the 5 level ramp you walk down. They thought that was the coolest! They also loved eating at ESPM zone, Alek said the games there were the bestest!
Down in South Beach, we ate our this amazing restaurant, Prime 112.It was pricey, but soooo worth it. Probably the best meal I have ever had, Kevin said it was the best steak he has ever end. Apparently it is a hit with the beautiful and famous people down there (though they still let plain folks like us in), so you never know who you will see. We saw some football player from the Jets and some wrestler, I didn't know either of them. But our dinner was so good and we enjoyed our chats with our waiter who looked alot like Donovan McNabb!
The hotel was amazing, the service there was second to none and the food was wonderful too. Of course, Rach and I hit the spa, even the guys did. Kevin had his first massage, he liked it, but still thinks they are a waste of money :o) I beg to differ. We enjoyed strolling Ocean Drive and shopping on Lincoln. It was really humid though, the kind of humid where as soon as you walk outside you instantly sweat, so we spent most of our time in the water.
Back in Delaware, Joe, Joseph and Reilly joined the crew for the weekend. The kids apparently had a blast together, playing on the beach and in the pool. They all headed to Rehobeth for dinner and the boardwalk. Alek said Joseph was his new bestest buddy. Maks said he loved Reilly. They really had a great time and it was so fun for them to spend it with their cousins.

We wrapped up our last night at Prime Italian, across from Prime 112, but much cheaper. We split meals and it was so good!! The people watching was so great, it is crazy there, even in off season. It was a fabulous trip and we had so much fun together. Great getting away sometimes.

Celebrity sightings at our hotel, Jamir Nelson (St joe's Hawks and now Miami Heat-I think). Kevin summoned him over to our table at the pool bar (which was comical), but he was very nice. Also hanging there was Toya Carter (I had to google her), but apparently she is on some reality show on BET as the ex wife of Lil wayne, the rapper. I wasn't too impressed.

The boys will tell you the same thing. I am so glad they got to do that. They really enjoyed their time with Pop and Noni. Props to Noni for handling them all on her own from Wed night to Friday night! I know she needs a weeks vacation now!
So we are back to reality now. Alek started soccer Monday night. We are headed to Jersey shore for the weekend to visit friends. I cannot believe how quickly this summer is going!! It is crazy! We are looking forward to our trip to Nags Head at the end of August (though that should be crazy, 8 adults, 12 kids!! It could get interesting! I am still having a hard time believing that in less then 2 months my little man will be in kindergarten!!

Looks like everyone had a great vacation! I,too, am having a hard time with the fact that my baby is off to K in a few weeks. Wish I could just freeze time. Enjoy your upcoming travels - we'll be down in the Jersey Shore again in 3weeks
Looks like a great time! that pool looks AMAZING....i wouldn't have known any of those people, but sounds like it was fun scoping out for them!!
