Snow then Sand!

Well it decided to finally be winter in late January!
One weekend of 4 inches of snow, just enough to break in those new snowboards!

We took the boys to the hill behind a local church, it has two great runs, a long slower one and short fast one, so it always proves to be a great location for the ice men!

Even daddy tested out the snowboard and did pretty well-he's so athletic!

It was the perfect amount of snow in my book, kids had fun, snow melted in a day and the warmer air came back!

After we warmed up, had some lunch, Alek's buddy came over and we hit the woods trail at the end of our street. The boys were a trip, it is so fun watching them be dare devils and racing each other.

It is always fascinating to me watching the boys interact with friends. It is fun seeing that different side of them.

The beginning of January brought a change in terms of my job, I was given opportunity to change to a permanent position within my agency, and after crunching numbers we decided to do it. I finally get paid holidays, vacation, and sick time. So it takes a lot of pressure off me in terms of time!

My first paid day off was MLK, so it was nice to be able to stay home with the boys when they were off school. I decided to take them to the city.

We met up with Kevin's cousin, L and her boyfriend for brunch. It was fun catching up with her and we all enjoyed some seriously yummy food!!

Afterwards I gave them the choice of a history tour or the zoo. They picked the zoo. It was perfect. Chilly, sunny, and not crowded! The animals were active and we got alot of closeups.

The big hits were the gorillas and the chimpanze's, especially the baby one.

We all loved watching him swing with his mama, Maks asked if I could do that with them-uh, mommy is not that flexible and strong!

The other big hit was in the avian house and all the cool birds!! The boys learned so much and Maks used the scavenger hunt to find all the birds. The biggest laugh came when mommy went to lean on hand rail and placed my hand in a pile of bird poop. They discussed that over and over!

It was an awesome day, just me and my boys, my monkeys and the monkeys at the zoo!

So grateful for how much these guys make me laugh!

Next up....SAND...and SUN for Kevin and I as we adventure to Mexico for sailing fun!!
