Happy New Year and Hellllloooooo 2012!!
Wow, another year flew past, so we said good bye to the old and helloo to the New in fun fashion!
New Years weekend started off with a bang for Alek and Maks as Jakey got to sleep over Fri-Sat. They were so excited and loved having him hear. They all had a great time, though they could have slept a little longer!Kevin was lucky enough on saturday to go to the 2012 Winter Classic Alumni Game at CBP. He had a great time and the boys and I watched most of the game on TV. It was so cool seeing our old favorites hit the ice again together and even better that the Flyers alums pulled out a win. Loved seeing the park almost sold out for an alumni game..only in Philly!
Since Kevin was in the city, we headed down to Keke, Ry and Makenzie's house for our annual NYE dinner and celebration. It was fun as always, the kids all playing together, running around, laughing.
The F's have finally joined the rest of us in Wii world, so the hit of the night was Just Dance 3. Maks almost got schooled by 3 year old Julia! Too fun, he was so serious about it, such the competitor!
The other great fun of the evening was finally meeting this sweet face (no, not you Jeff!). Home only 2 weeks, how stinkin cute and gorgeous is this newest member of the N family? Love her! What a happy little girl and as much as I really wanted to squish those cheeks, I didn't, but I kissed them instead!!
LM was taking in the insanity of the crazy kiddos playing Wii! He is already an awesome big bro and I think gets more handsome each time I see him!! Congrats guys on your newest addition, we are all so happy for you! Welcome to the world of 2 kiddos--try to stay sane and enjoy the fact that for the most part you are not outnumbered though many days it may feel that way!
After leaving the fun at the F house, we headed home, usually this means the boys and Kevin falling asleep and I sitting alone with a glass (or two) of Moet watching the ball drop. This year though, they all had a surge of energy, so we joined the party at our neighbors house down the street. It was in full force when we arrived and since the night was warm the kids were all out playing flashlight tag.
Pretty soon though they came in, changed in to PJ's for a pajama party and had fun with the glasses, hats, beads and mustaches. We all danced, ate, had a glass (or two) of champagne and made it to midnight! This was the first time my kids (and Kevin--in many years) have made it to midnight. I was happy to be able to kiss them all while we rang in 2012! As we left to head home (5 house up), Kevin let the kids sit in his lap and steer, they thought that was wayyyy cool. Of course we did remind them this was a one time event and if we ever catch them in the front driver's seat......It was a fun filled night and a good reminder at how lucky we are to have these beautiful healthy kiddos and family and friends to share them with!
Even better the next morning, Alek slept til 10:45 and Maks til 11:30, Kevin and I were up by 8, what is wrong with that picture?
So, welcome 2012 cannot wait to see what unfolds for the Harkins bunch this year!
Cheers!!!

Happy New year!
was SO fun to see you guys and finally introduce SC to you all! :) Funny b/c our house hit a surge of energy too -- LM went to bed at 11, SC at 11:30, and Nez and I watched the ball drop via live feed on the computer and were up until 1am which is a good 3 hours later than usual for us on new years! apparently the gods had us all up to welcome the new year for whatever reason!! that is wild how late your kids slept! WOW!!!! they are like teenagers already :) see you soon!
