Got any loose change?

The Joint Council for International Children's Services is running a great fundraising campaign, called Change for Children!

Generally for the boys birthday's we make a donation to a charity working in orphanages in Eastern Europe, so this new campaign really caught my eye.

Did you know:

"Orphans simply don’t count. The current estimate of 153 million orphans worldwide was calculated by large aid and development organizations. However this number does not include children living in baby houses, orphanages, group homes or on the streets throughout much of the world. Apparently these children just don’t count. Joint Council knows this attitude has to change, and the current system to support the world’s most vulnerable children has to change."

I showed it to Alek and Maks and we talked about it and how far the loose change we have lying around could go and we talked about those children still living in the baby homes and orphanages waiting for their forever families and how we could help them.

They were into it!

So we started our fundraising page: KirovMurmansk Boys.

I also have a collection box at work for loose change and we are asking all those who are coming to Maks' birthday party to spare some change.

Our goal is $250 before Halloween!

Thanks so much to those who have already donated, we are grateful and we know this will go to a great cause!
