Tis the Season

Yes we believe! We love the magic of the season!
Making our lists and....

checking them twice!

Attempting to make a gingerbread house with mommy. I seriously have a baking deficiency, I can't be successful with a kit. Followed the directions to a T and this was a disaster. By the way, have you ever tasted the icing in one of these puppies? EWWWWW tastes like glue, of course the boys loved it. The house collapsed within 2 hours, they proceeded to just pick the candy off of it. They were happy and thats what counts.

Its been a busy month so far. Started with my grandmother (or Nana as she is known to the boys) celebrating her 90th birthday! She is still going strong, she looks 70! The family got together and threw her a surprise party

It was a great time. My aunt and uncle came up from SC and cousins came from VA, including the newest great granddaughter, who is so stinkin cute! Alek loved her, was begging us for a baby sister.
It was fun to have everyone together, though we missed Joe and his gang. Grandmom was thrilled with her surprise and the party was a great sucess! Maks serenaded her with his famous rendition of My Country Tis of Thee, he even threw in the Pledge for extra measure (see link to video below).

We had plans the following weekend to head up to Crystal Springs Tree Farm to find and cut down the perfect tree, but it called for soaking rain that whole day. So we settle for a local lot and found a pretty yet overpriced tree. At least this lot sends trees to troops for xmas, so that made me feel better.

The boys had fun looking for the perfect tree and playing around at the lot.
They even helped decorate the tree this year without anything breaking!

Ho Ho Ho Makadoo!!

The cutest Santa ever!!

The boys and I went with Rach and Megs to Peddlers Village, for some Giggleberry Fun, shopping, eating, and taking in the Gingerbread house display (obviously mine was not in the contest).

The gingerbread houses were amazing. The kids were really impressed. There was even one of St. Basil's Cathedral!

We enjoyed the hot apple cider which was being cooked in a huge pot over an open fire. The boys loved the candy and toy store. We had an awesome dinner at Waterlilies and then walked back to take in the amazing light display.

The lights were so cool, just beautiful and if you are not in the spirit of the season yet, I suggest heading to Peddlers Village at night.
What a perfect day!
So we are full on in Christmas mode.
The boys are counting down the days!

A moment of being nice, which right after the picture was snapped there was some wrestling, so we were right back to naughty....Santa's watching!!

Nana with the great grandkids (missing Joe and Reilly though).

Pause the music at the bottom of this page and click here for Maks" serenade!

Let the magic of the season continue....
