Much to my dismay summer is coming to a close and all too quickly!
I should act more excited and get the boys pumped up for school, but it is hard, I love summer and I definitely did not get enough beach time this summer. So we had to Pop's for one last summer walk on the sand.
Noni was still in NH, so it was just us. Saturday we took the boys to Rehoboth Beach. I told them we would hit the ocean for some last boogy board waves!
Well, the ocean was essentially a lake that day, I have never seen an ocean calmer than that. The beach was jammed pack.
Makes us appreciate how spoiled we are on Pop's private bay beach and trips to the Outer Banks. While I always enjoy my toes in any sand, having people sitting 1 foot from me was too close for comfort. So when the boys said they were done, it was fine by me. We changed and hit the boardwalk for some rides and games.
Daddy tucked himself into a beach bar to watch the Penn State game. They boys had a blast hitting the rides and playing some games. So after hiking back to the car, grabbing the parking ticket from our windshield, we drove back up Route 1 to the quiet of Pop's beach.
His street had a little gathering for Labor Day, the boys met up with 2 other boys whose parents recently bought a house on the street, so it was good to make new friends and plan for next summer.
It was fun hanging out with Pop and winding down the weekend.
Sunday brought along the mandatory pictures, which is like herding cats.
Sometimes they cooperate....
And other's they head butt or punch each other in the arm.
Alek needed a break from Maks and took a stroll to find some more stones.
Maks was throwing stones in with Pop and Daddy.
And attenmpting a split in the sand, in jeans...and wondering why his legs are out as far as usual.
Ahh, there is some cooperation! How handsome they are.
I was not planning on being in pictures, so hiding my outfit behind the kids!
And daddy was even cooperative getting his picture taken!
Such handsome men!
You guys love your Pop!
And Maks doing a handstand...again...
Alek attempting a back bend, he has flexibility issues!
Pondering the start of school....
So long summer, you were too short, too fast, but alot of fun!
I for one will miss you terribly, Kevin is looking forwatd to fall, his favorite time of the year and the boys have gotten a little excited for school.
Hoping for a great year!
