Carry me mom

Carry me, pick me up mom. Generallly a request I get daily from one of the boys and it is usally around bedtime and usually to go up the stairs. They are getting heavier and heavier and I am huffing and puffing by the time I get to the top of the stairs. The other night I was tired, my legs hurt already from the gym and I couldn't wait to climb into bed. Carry me mom. In my mind, I was thinking, uugghhh, are you kidding me and I was just about to say, no buddy, you are just getting too big. I hesitated. Those words saddened me, you are just getting too big. I don't want to be at that point where I can't pick up my guys and carry them, I am not ready for them to get big. It will be soon enough when they won't even ask anymore, what do I have with Alek, another 3 months, 6 months, 1 year. Is kindergarten too old to be carried upstairs by your mommy. When do I stop being mommy and mama and become mom or mommm (with the eyes rolling).
No matter how big they get, they are still my babies, so I pick them up and up we go.

I find myself thinking the same thing. Even with extra pregnancy pounds, I am hauling (literally, hauling with Jax) them upstairs at night because I am so afraid that the day they stop asking could be tomorrow. Just not ready for them to grow up. Now let's hope I don't start crying at K registration next week.
