Alek's 1st Flyers Game

Last saturday we took Alek to his first Flyers game. We had the great seats-8 rows from the ice right by the Flyers bench. Alek had a blast, he loved all the treats like popcorn and juice. Daddy and Mike treated him to his first cotton candy-YIKES, I noticed both his legs shaking a few minutes later. Mike bought him a Flyers hat too. The only thing he didn't like was the big loud horn when the Flyers scored.
Afterwards, we had guest passes to head downstairs, thanks to my high school friend Pete who is sports director for an NBC station in NJ.
SO we headed downstairs and crossed our fingers we would meet a player or two. We did get to see where the post game press conference was held, which was cool. Got to peek down the locker room hallway. We did get to meet Mark Eaton from the Pens who was very nice and laughed as Alek tried to hide behind him and play "you cant see me" game.
Then we got to meet a Flyer, Scotty Upshall, who was super nice and really great with Alek. It was very cool!! Pete also got a broken stick from one of the Pens and gave it to Alek. He thought that was the best. As we were leaving we walked past an NHL official and he called Alek over and gave him a puck! What a time he had for his very first game!! I hope he doesn't think this will happen at every hockey game!
What a great day it was and we are very thankful to Pete for making it extra special!
