May 20th marked Maks 6 month anniversary with us! We had our post placement report for him which went well. He really has changed alot since coming home. He has done alot of catching up, he has grown 2 inches and gained 4 pounds, he still remains our little tank though, short and stocky! His health has been really good since those early days home and his asthma has been under pretty good control.
He loves playing race trucks with his big brother, he loves throwing a ball and loves running now. His leg turns out a bit while walking and running, so we have a PT appt set up for next week.
His favorite thing though is the rocking horse, he could ride that all day--might have ourselves a little cowboy in the making?
It has been fun watching the change in the interaction with Maks and Alek and how much they can play together now, Maks tries to do whatever Alek is doing and take whatever toy Alek has, so a few little heated battles have arised over a truck or train!
While he definitely still remains a daddy's boy, he now really likes mommy alot as well--our attachment and bonding have taken off in the past couple months and now he doesn't automatically run to daddy whenever he sees him.
His speech is slowly coming along, not a lot whole lot of new words or noises but we are working on it. He does say mama very frequently now so that makes me happy!
One thing that hasn't changed at all is his appetite, the boy loves his food!
I was thinking that right around this time last year, we were changing up our dossier from requesting a girl to either gender.
So happy 6 months Maks, what an amazing half year it has been!!
